ALOHA MENTAL ARITHMETIC
Holistic brain development process based on the mental arithmetic system.
TheALOHA Mental Arithmeticis a holistic brain development process based on the mental arithmetic system that has yielded incredible results.
It is an accredited, global educational program for children across the age spectrum5 to 13 years oldwhich enhances their learning abilities and develops their mathematical proficiency.
Thanks to the learning method of the program, children develop theirtheir mental abilitiesin a highly entertaining way through the use of the abacus, practicing mental arithmetic and through educational games.
ALOHA: Abacus Learning Of Higher Arithmetic
We create the leaders of tomorrow
OBJECTIVE OF THE PROGRAM
Mental development for children
Lifelong benefits for students:
1. Attention and concentration
2. Creativity
3. Imagination and visualization
4. Orientation
5. Auditory and analytical ability
6. Photographic ability
7. Observability and orientation
Calculation with abacus
Students learn to calculate a large number of numbers quickly and accurately with the abacus.
Mental arithmetic
With practice students create a mental image of the abacus by doing all the operations in their mind.
Educational games
In every ALOHA class, students play educational games that purposefully reinforce the benefits of the program.
Competitions and Olympiads
Every year ALOHA students have the opportunity to participate in competitions and world olympiads, gain unique experiences and create friendships all over the world.
Come and join his big family
Aloha Mental Arithmetic!
The globally accredited mental arithmetic program that counts over 40 countries and 4 million students in its dynamics, has also arrived in Greece and is waiting for you to get to know it !!!
There are two paths to mastering Aloha Mental Arithmetic:
Tiny Tots
- For children who start the program from the age of5 to 7.
- Progress is slower on the Tiny Tots track, giving the student the time they need to understand the content.
- The material used in the lessons (books, educational games and abacus) is perfectly adapted to the maturation process and the selective motor skills of the students.
- Two hours a week.
Kids
- For children who start the program from age 8 to 13.
- Progress is faster on the Kids track.
- The material used in the lessons (books, educational games and abacus) is perfectly adapted to the maturation process and the selective motor skills of the students.
- Two hours a week.
Learning the program
Tiny Tots: students starting lessons between 5 and 7 years old.
Kids:students who start lessons from 8 years and above.
Both paths are independent and at the end of each, children will have acquired the same knowledge. The only difference between them is that the Tiny Tots track takes an extra year, giving the student the time they need to understand the content.
The ALOHA program respects children's different learning rates. For this reason, there are 2 different paths, depending on the age at which the child starts the course.
The materials used in the lessons (books, educational games and abacus) are perfectly adapted to the maturation process and the fine motor skills of the students, both in Tiny Tots and Kids.
The lessons
ALOHA's classes are designed to bring together children of different learning rates and ages. Thus cooperative learning is enhanced, mixing is enhanced and children learn to work in a different environment. All this contributes to increasing the substance of the lessons and, consequently, to the student's motivation.
By attending classes two hours a week, students complete two levels per school year.
All students' educational needs were considered when designing ALOHA lessons, promoting playfulness, respecting the attention curve, reinforcing the family learning approach...
First-person education
During the lessons, there is constant feedback between the teacher and the student, since the role of the teacher as a guide during the process of teaching children is of particular importance. ALOHA students attend two hours a week of lessons, which can be consolidated into one lesson or two lessons of one hour each.
Course duration
The activities included in the lessons present different levels of intensity and are mixed over time in order to increase the level of attention throughout the program.
Fun lessons
To promote student participation, all classroom activities have a recreational element, promoting a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere.
Exercise intensity
Sessions feature varying levels of intensity and are interspersed throughout class time to benefit attention levels throughout the course.
Homework
The ALOHA program offers their students the opportunity to do homework. Daily practice of 5-10 minutes at home allows students to achieve greater growth.
Extracurricular and intracurricular activity
As well as being provided as an after-school activity, ALOHA can be an excellent supplementary activity as a part of the school curriculum.
A driving force in the classroom
The ALOHA Mental Arithmetic program combines different resources to enhance the learner's innate motivation: positive, direct, and rewarding effort rather than result, among others.
Sociability
Good behavior is rewarded with individual or collective tokens of appreciation.
Activities
The best-behaved students decide what activities to do, and are responsible for the materials or organizing the games.
Material
In addition, in order for the program to reach students, initiatives aimed at strengthening motivation continue. Medals, bracelets, diplomas... These are some of the prizes ALOHA students receive as a reward for their efforts.
Difficulty level
In order for students to always work within their abilities, the activities have different levels of difficulty.
Achievable goals
Aiming to offer students accessible goals in the short term, the contents of the program are distributed in cycles and levels.
Olympiads
Every year, ALOHA organizes regional, national and international championships. The aim of these tournaments is to boost children's self-confidence and improve in an atmosphere of healthy competition.
Families
In order for families to feel part of their children's educational process, ALOHA constantly creates different collaboration opportunities: homework, satisfaction questionnaires, family activities, open classes, periodic communications, information on children's progress...
In 1993, in Malaysia, Mr. Loh Mun Sung started the mental arithmetic program ALOHA, an acronym for Abacus Learning of Higher Arithmetic, designed to teach the abacus to children.
For more than twenty years, the program was progressively implemented on five continents, eventually reaching over forty countries, which now constitute the international network of ALOHA Mental Arithmetic.
ALOHA Mental Arithmetic
Through Mental Arithmetic, students can mentally perform simple (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) and complex mathematical operations (square roots, powers, fractions, functions) without an additional external object (calculator, computer, pencil, paper, etc.) . .) The program is based on three basic tools: the abacus, mental arithmetic and educational games.
The ALOHA Mental Arithmetic program aims to provide the ability to stimulate children's brains in a comprehensive, aesthetic way that lasts over time, pushing the right "buttons" to strengthen their neural connections.
ALOHA is recognized as a powerful educational proposition that, as a starting point, merges the classic theories of childhood (Piaget, Montessori, Dewey, Vygotsky) with the latest contributions to neuropedagogy (gamification, emotional intelligence, cooperative work, etc.). In this way, it is constantly enriched and adapted to the latest findings and in the best interest of all parties.
